Dedicated to Dr King and his wife, Coretta Scott King, this performance celebrates their brilliance and commitment to social justice and peace. Skylight Gallery- Female Aesthetics
Curated by MLJ Johnson, the exhibit explores how women communicate with men, but also amongst each other. The audience is triggered to investigate if female communication is different from male communication and why.

An Evening with Dr. Roland Fryer, Chief Equality Officer, New York City Department of Education and Assistant Professor of Economics at Harvard University
As as follow-up last fall's Breaking the Prison Pipeline forum, Restoration will host Dr. Roland Fryer, advisor to Chancellor Joel Klein on strategies to narrow the racial gap in achievement in the city's schools. The discussion will explore the controversial question of the whether incentives matter. Brooklyn Next
Brooklyn Next, presented in association with BAM, celebrates the innovation and diversity of the music coming out of the borough with two weekends packed with shows all over Brooklyn. Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation joins Brooklyn Next on February 23 with an evening of performances with DJ Rainy, Restoration's Youth Arts Academy African drummers, and indie rock musician Wunmi, an artist who effortlessly joins the dots between Nigeria's Afrobeat heritage, New York's house pedigree, London's jazz, broken beat, and classic street soul sounds. Come and enjoy music that makes you move, think, groove, laugh, sing, and dance. Restoration Plaza, Main Building, 1368 Fulton Street; from 8 to midnight. 40 Years of Restoration: Photo Exhibit and Panel Discussion
The Brooklyn Historical Society presents Reflections on Community Development: Stories from Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, a new exhibits focusing on the rise and importance of community development corporations (CDCs), from their inception during the late 1960's into the present. Focusing on Restoration, the exhibit will present the story on how elected officials joined with local community activists, politicians and business leaders to create a truly cooperative public private partnership whose mandate was nothing short of completely transforming an economically depressed, physically blighted urban community into a vibrant, dynamic, safe, stable place to live and work. This retrospective exhibit will encompass oral histories, captivating photographs, and rare documents that reflect Restoration's dynamic 40 year history, from it's earliest meetings, to projects and events that were documented through out the year. Brooklyn Historical Society: Bedford Stuyvesant Architecture Walking Tour

Led by author Wilhemena Kelly and Francis Morrone, the tour will explore Bedford Stuyvesant's architectural gems. Colonized in 1667, and originally centered at Bedford Avenue and Fulton Street, the original village of 'Bedford Corners' grew to become the Bedford Stuyvesant of today. learn of its Revolutionary War history and its evolution from town to urban metropolis. Celebrate the renaissance and revitalization of the Bed-Stuy Gatway Business District at the 2nd Annual Toast to Bedford-Stuyvesant, sponsored by the Fulton-Nostrand United Merchants Association, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Carver Bank and Nostrand Wines & Liquors. Guests will mingle under the magnificent architecture of the Bedford-Stuyvesant branch of Carver Federal Savings Bank while sampling wines and cocktails from around the world and swaying to the sounds of one of Bedford-Stuyvesant's great jazz ensembles. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fulton-Nostrand United Merchants Association's Bed-Stuy Gateway BID Formation initiative and youth scholar program. Business Attire.
