family and community services
are designed to address common
barriers to self-sufficiency and
upward mobility.
We
help residents boost their
knowledge, skills, income and
savings, and to identify and
achieve their long-term goals.
In doing so, we aim to
strengthen the social and
economic assets of both families
and the whole community.
Programs include:
Job
Training: Resume
preparation, interviewing, and
other job readiness training.
Education:
Financial Literacy and
Entrepreneurship Training and
Supports; Technology education,
Job training, and open access
computer hours for adults and
young people. Access to GED,
ESL, vocational training, and
college.
Social
Services:
Free
benefits counseling, family
assistance, and financial and
legal advice, all in one
location.
Youth
Programming:
For
high school juniors and seniors,
academic assistance, job
training, internships and
mentorship opportunities.
Multi-disciplinary youth arts
programming for youth ages 3-18.
Home
Weatherization:
Home assessment and improvement
services to improve energy
efficiency and help save money
for both homeowners and renters.
Community
Events:
Restoration
sponsors a number of events each
year that bring together our
diverse community and showcase
the best of Bedford Stuyvesant.
Our annual 10K Run/Fun Walk, RFK
Memorial Celebration, and
Anniversary Gala events offer
something for every age group.
