Energy Conservation

One of the top Weatherization Programs in the City, Restoration’s Weatherization Program is one of the top ranked Weatherization Programs in the City and serves some 300 low income households annually.

Restoration's Weatherization Program has an established reputation as the leading provider of energy conservation services to property owners in Central Brooklyn. Supported by the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, the goal of the program is to reduce energy costs and improve safety and health standards for low income residents.

Services include installation of new windows, upgrade of heating systems, and the provision of energy efficient appliances, such air conditioners and refrigerators. Restoration trains and employs area residents to make these weatherization improvements, providing real skill-building and educational opportunities in line with our workforce development strategies.

Capitalizing upon the growing demand for our weatherization services as well as the need for qualified workers, Weatherization has teamed up with our Justice Corps Program to provide hands-on training and apprenticeship opportunities to our Justice Corps Members.  Participating youth will learn such high demand skills as how to conduct energy audits, how to use diagnostic equipment, how to install insulation and air sealing and how to recognize heating system problems.
