Amplify Action: Sustainability through the Arts Exhibition

Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation (BSRC), the Pratt Center for Community Development, and Pratt’s Initiative for Arts, Community, and Social Change (IACSC) are proud to announce the opening of “Amplify Action: Sustainability through the Arts”, an exhibition of work by artists both local and abroad that will demonstrate how arts, culture, and media can be powerful catalysts for social change. The exhibit will allow the Central Brooklyn community to engage with themes of sustainable living, healthy consumer choices, and environmental action. Featured works examine diverse topics related to sustainability, including ecology, economy, equity, environmental consciousness, resource conservation and efficiency, agriculture, architecture, infrastructure, environmental health, and justice.

Opening Reception:
Please join artists and community members for the exhibition’s opening reception on Saturday, April 21st from 4-6PM at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation’s Skylight Gallery, 1368 Fulton Street, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY. Please RSVP online.

Panel Discussion:
A panel discussion will be held on March 29th from 6-8pm at Pratt Institute Campus: Myrtle Hall - 2nd Floor Auditorium (Room 2E.3). The panel will introduce Mary Mattingly, Simonetta Moro and Kristyna Milde, three or the twenty-five artists participating in the exhibition, discussing their work as it is applied to sustainability and how their perception has been affected by sustainable practices. Workshops:
Finally, you are invited to attend a series of workshops for educators that will be held in conjunction with Amplify Action, engaging local educators in a dialogue on sustainable practices and providing tools to make meaningful curriculum connections to the Amplify Action Exhibition. The workshops will be held from on April 26th from 5-8pm at Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation’s Skylight Gallery, 1368 Fulton Street, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY. Please RSVP online.
