Business Wire- Goldman Sachs Partners with New York City Agencies to Finance Community Development in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The NYC Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the NYC Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and BRP Development announced an innovative $45 million real estate transaction to develop much-needed affordable housing and retail space in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.

Over 350 people joined with the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation on the evening of June 16th at Manhattan’s Pier 60 to mark the nation’s first community development corporation’s 43rd year of service to the Central Brooklyn Community while also bestowing honors on three philanthropic leaders

Two RDTC Members Receive BAM's Scripps Scholarship

This marks the third year that members of the Restoration Dance Theatre Company are awarded distinguished Samuel H. Scripps BAM Scholarships. We are proud to acknowledge recipients Kourtney Charles and Ashley London.

So You Think You Can Dance

Ade Chike Torbert began his dance training at Restoration and became a member of the Restoration Dance Theatre Company. We were so proud of his brother Sekou, who joined the Broadway cast of Bring In 'Da Noise, Bring In 'Da Funk! And now, Ade continues the tradition of artistic excellence as one of the final ten contestants for the television show So You Think You Can Dance.

ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES

Restoration partnered with the Community Environmental Center (CEC) to help CEC meet its target to paint 1,000,000 sq ft of Cool Roofs, a highly reflective material that is "painted onto" existing roofs, in New York City.

Saturday Sessions are available each school year and are tuition based. Saturday lessons begin in October and every Saturday thereafter until May. Session times vary, the usual NPSOM day last from 9 AM to 3 PM.
