About the Plaza
The 8th annual ride in support of food justice starts at Restoration Plaza and ends at Principle’s Bike Shop in Gowanus. Ride alone, as part of a team, or get paired up with other riders during check-in. You’ll receive a manifest to help you choose your own adventure. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Costumes are encouraged.
Donations collected at the start and end of the ride will benefit Hattie Carthan Community Market and Garden, and Brooklyn Packers.

Cranksgiving is part scavenger hunt and part food drive, all on two wheels! The grassroots event founded in NYC has spread to 112 cities around the world and delivered over 1 million meals since 1999. Each event is locally organized.
Built on the site of a former dumping ground in 2009, Hattie Carthan Community Market and Garden is an agricultural revitalization project led by Yonette “Farmer Yon” Fleming. The classroom garden hosts a weekly farmers’ market in support of small Brooklyn growers.
Brooklyn Packers is a Black-led CSA with a focus on sourcing from minority-owned farms. The cooperative facilitates access to food for all through sliding-scale pricing.
Questions regarding Cranksgiving can be sent to DeVonne Jackson, coordinator at the Center for Healthy Neighborhoods.
